Typical Timetable of a Fresher |
|
In general the timetable is based on fortnightly case units, with each of the two weeks having different timetables. It's composed of several different components:
- Lectures, workshops and essential skills sessions
- Problem Based Learning (PBL) where you discuss case units and develop learning objectives
- Community Placements, which encompass a wide range of medically-related settings
- Professional Practice Groups (PPG) where you talk through what you learned from your community placements
- Life Science Resource Centre (LSRC) where you explore anatomy and physiology in greater depth
- Clinical Skills Resource Centre (CRSC) which gives you the chance to learn and practice your medical skills
You then also have a range of other modules which are thrown in throughout the year, such as Special Study Units (SSUs) which are student-selected, and often placement-based, topics of study.
