Medic Rugby
Plymouth and Exeter Medicals RFC (affectionately known as The Squirrels) is the premier medical school rugby club of the Southwest.
Founded in 2007 it comprises of students from Exeter, Plymouth and Truro and its 2 teams compete in a number of competitions. This year the mighty Squirrels team won the National Association of Medical Schools plate competition, felling many a medical school in its path to glory, including fellow PBL behemoths Liverpool Medical School. We also compete in a number of local cups and playing the Marines in front of over 2500 people is often the highlight of the season.
Training takes place on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons in Plymouth and Exeter and games are often on a Wednesday night or Saturday afternoon. Socials are a regular occurrence and an excellent way to get to know people from other localities.
There are many Squirrels in all years at the medical school so don't hesitate to get in contact. See you next season!
